Be thankful for what you have, you’ll end up having more.
It is usual nowadays where you are going as you put your status via your social media especially if they are close to you like family.
When they saw some of my travel pictures in La Union two years ago, kiddos are hooked up rising their interest to go to that place especially Thunderbird Resort. Here are the compilation of those pictures with this link.
Maybe the hue structure of white around with a dash of blue made the Greek feeling that soothes to the eye of someone who will see it splendidly.
Yes, me and hubby aim yet plan our stay.
Bit pricey when we were checking it but when I got the opportunity to buy it in discount, I grab it. Told them to free up any of their weekend birth month which is March and we will be feeling the Santorini staycation. Best part, it would be a double celebration for a daughter who will graduate.
But this trip also becomes a challenge for me. When hubby checked the car, some of the tires need to be replaced. I got also a news that one of my projects will end up by March.
Still, focus is the key.
We told to our kids that we will be commuting by bus,
Two jump-off buses to be exact that is from south (Laguna) to north (La Union). Once you are in San Fernando, La Union, there is a tricycle ready to drop you off to the said resort.
From Manila, we took an air-conditioned bus bound for San Fernando via Dominion in Cubao that took five hours to travel. Other bus available are Partas (Cubao, Pasay) and Fariñas (Cubao). Fare is around P 400 with 20% discount for students.
For me, it is also the time to think and reflect future work plans for the coming months.
Sharing with you the compilation of our staycation, classy with a touch of elegant facilities that made a stand-out structure.
The location embraces the Greece feeling and the view of West Philippine Sea. It is a tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the metro yet a lovely escape for some relaxing down time.
We were booked to a single queen size bed but since we were staying with my kids, I requested for a double bed which were granted right away.
We love our room location, huge and has a veranda with a look of swimming pool infront and a glimpse also of the sunset.
We were provided on what we need, just like a feeling of home.
- Big bed that has hygienic blankets and pillows.
- Large LCD with lot of channels to choose in their cable
- High-speed Internet connection
- Complimentary bottled mineral water /coffee/tea/sugar sachets
- Use of electric pot
- Toiletries – shampoo, comb, toothbrush, etc.
- Cute, tiny heart cake dessert
I thought after a long hours of travel, we will be kicking those shoes, relax and sleep.
It’s not. Kids invited us for unlimited time to do those swimming in their new FIRA Beach Club.
The pool is too long that made them a happy playground for the family.

Still of all the day activities, bonding with kiddos in the wee hours of the night are worth the time even I’m too sleepy as we exchange stories. My take, make the most of it, it’s priceless moment to all of us.
I got also a recommendation from their personnel to visit Poropoint Lighthouse especially in the morning as biking and jogging around are so refreshing.
Part of staying is a free buffet breakfast prepared by Olives Restaurant.
We prefer to sit outside. When a coffee, newspaper, freshly prepared food with a view of open sea, what can make you really smile in the morning. It’s an escapable beauty and peace.
After that, we got to visit also the beach which I missed out when I was here before.
Quiet and with lesser people, one can appreciate the beach scenery.
My kiddos are also exploring other facilities like their Play Room that made them hooked up to video games.
Gym and amenity for toddlers are also available.
Yes, that’s it.
Since we will be travelling far, what we did was to get a late lunch and early merienda that becomes one.
Definitely, family is really craving for good, delectable food at Olives Restaurant.
Their brick-oven Ilokano pizza topped with Vigan longganiza and pasta are to die for. Highly recommended.
Iced tea and summer drinks are also refreshing which is best for summer month like this.
We will be leaving. My youngest will be back in her metro gym class while my other daughter will also be back working.
Haayyy! Still thankful facing up of going back to reality is such a bliss.
As for me, I have the courage to face the just ended I.T. project.
From there, this paradise retreat staycation opens the door to give time to rejuvenate thus reflect and be positive.
Why do I have to worry, I still got some existing part-time works. And when I go back to the metro, there would be a series of meetings and some contract signing. Even its part-time, it gives me the heart to be grateful.
