Yes, it is scheduled itinerary, but from there, it gives you the freedom to be spontaneous yet fascinated. Go where excites you because this is your trip afterall.
Going to Taiwan led me to plan a little. Still, the idea is to maximize it. That’s why a guide like KKday Tour would be a big help especially if one will go to a longer trip like Taichung.
Booking it in advance is straight forward itinerary and glad I did not regret every tourist spots we visited.
You better watch this to know what I really mean.
Since I will reach Taoyuan International Airport at 1:00am, I will have a 2-hour ride bus going to Taichung. Even I have read from other travel related blogs that 2:00am would be the last trip, UBUS offered an every hour trip where I was scheduled at 2:55am.
Arrived 4:30am at Chaoma Station, I headed at colleagues’ AirBnB thru taxi ride. I still have time to sleep and freshen up.
Meeting place would be at Taichung Station Exit 6, 7-11 store at 10:00am as we went there by taxi. Please take note on the “exit” because there are a lot of 7-11 stores around.
As we were picked up by the tour guide thru a signage he is carrying with our names on it, the meet-up was such a breeze. Even he didn’t speak English, he has a ready speaker phone where he translates our voice if ever we have some queries.
The tour bus is also big, spacious, clean with a comfortable chairs. They also gave complimentary bottled water during the trip.
Our first stop, Miyahara. Formerly this is an Eye Hospital built by Japanese optometrist but stop the operation due to a series of earthquakes.
I thought I will be just visiting in an Ice Cream Parlor but to my surprise, the rustic interior inside the building is spectacular. The design of wooden book cabinets in a lighted high-ceiling walls complimented the warm tranquility of the area. Aside from that, chocolates and teas are ready for souvenirs or something to take.
We have our lunch at Park Lane by CMP – a mall with a tall vertical garden walls. With the greenery around, the intention of making this architectural design to be an urban garden after all can be possible.
Inside the mall is the MilkHouses that served different kind of breads, pastries and desserts. Huge yet too filling as the price is also affordable. You know the breads are freshly baked if it’s moist, flavorful and crunchy.
Our next stop is the National Taichung Theater known as the opera house. The notable design outside is very impressive – curved and folded which has a dramatic, futuristic effect.
Who would knew that in a roof top building can plant this lot of flowers? Yes, nature can be possible at the heart of the city.
Are we done yet? Not quite because we will be going to Rainbow Village. Quaint, colorful houses and full of life as one will noticed it immediately once you are already at the area.
It was a military housing before and prevented from demolition when a veteran started to paint his dream out of the wall.
Our last stop, Gaomei Wetlands. Enormous windmill will captivate your senses because of the breathtaking scenery.
As soon as we went down to our bus, we enjoyed the refreshing air, took that deep breath and had a breezy walk along the wooden bridge. It was a calming moment as we spent the remaining time waiting for the sunset to come.

How I wish our tour guide can speak english for us to totally immersed to the place. Good side of it, he is fully directed and flexible to the need of each participants.
Even I did not have that enough sleep, the tour is relaxing. The main tourist attractions in Taichung are popular for a reason. Overall, it was all impressive. It made us also to slow down taking our bread and milk tea, wander down while we watch people go around.
There was an enough time for each itinerary. From there, this is the best way to get to know the place through sitting and observing.
Yes, it is scheduled itinerary, but from there, it gives you the freedom to be spontaneous yet fascinated.

Definitely, in my mind I will go back again to explore more Taichung. Because there are still yet to discover.
