It became known that cheese makes wine more palatable. Why? The fat content of the cheese when partner with wine makes it more sweeter and induced the fruiter taste.
I have appreciated drinking wine when I got to involve to a technical project wth X-spots clients where we celebrated each accomplishments thru a glass of wine. When I got also a chance to travel abroad, wine would always be part of our meal especially if we have steak on the table.
With just a simple gathering also with friends, it also amazed me to see our platter with different cheese, chocolates, fruits or nuts and a glass of wine.
Yes partner with cheese.
It became known that cheese makes wine more palatable. Why? As I also made a research behind it after enjoying this kind of chill time, the fat content of the cheese when partner with wine makes it more sweeter and induced the fruiter taste.
When an invite came in with Wine Story for the Wine and Cheese pairing using French Wine, it is marrying an ancient time tradition as great taste wil come together to compliment not only the immering each senses but also bonding time with friends.
What more, Wine Story took a taste tour through France with carefully selected fine wines from champagne, white and red wine.
Following were the wine tasted:
- Thienot Brut NV – Champagne
- Ferran Rouge – Pessac-Leognan
- Le Borderon 2009 – Haut-Medoc
- Bad Girl Cremant De Bordeaux 2010
- Ferran Blanc
- Marjosse Blanc 2014
There is also a variety of cheeses from cow, goat, sheep that came from their cheese partner, Chef Selection, featured in Spiral’s Cheese Room at Sofitel.
A guide is also given to made the tour around more educational literally as one tried to play around.
The combination of wine and cheese through a variety of selection make the taste tour escapade a light drink like Ferran Blanc to robust experience of Bad Girl Cremant De Bordeaux 2010
From there, the effort to share and build the knowledge behind it made one to appreciate it more.
Not a wine nor a cheese expert but I was doing this quite a while to appreciate this kind of activity.
Here are my suggestions for first timers:
- To make the drink more soothing with wine and cheese, take a sip of the wine, take a bit of the cheese.
- While some of the cheese is still in your mouth, take another sip of wine.
- Do this in an empty stomach, with only bread and water on the side.
To appreciate wine is always an act of awareness, an understanding to fascinate each senses. Once this was discovered, it would be a symphony of smell and taste.
Tasting wine to its finest is always available with Wine Story.
