Doña Elena Olive Oil together with 49-B Heirloom Kitchen presents Festive Flavors, five special dishes by Chef Erica Aquino starting November 20, 2016 until January 2017.
Considered as Yuletide healthy menu, have the opportunity to personally tasted Grilled Shrimp Patacones, Olive and Chorizo Stuffed Roast Chicken, Grilled Tilapia with Red Onions and Olive Relish, Cuban Beef Stew with Yellow Rice and Cheese Panna Cotta – all indulge into healthy content of Doña Elena Olive Oil.
This was conceptualize with Chef Erica Aquino of 49B Heirloom Kitchen that features food from generation to generation from Filipino, Asian, European and other flights that made a fancy recipes that flavorful, creative, and highly distinctive from each other.
As appetizer/starter, Grilled Shrimp Patacones (P 285.00) is considered for me as Filipino dish infused in Saba but actually a South-American inspired dish. Better to ate it hot to indulge its crispiness. Best with chilled cucumber yogurt dips.
My fave which is the Olive and Chorizo Stuffed Roast Chicken (P 550.00) that I finished the whole plate is an innovative chicken dish that floats the spicy flavor of olive oil, olives and chorizo.
I thought I was already full but cannot resist to taste the Cuban Beef Stew with Yellow Rice (P 340.00). I’m not a fan of beef dishes but this one is very tender that melts its savory taste to your mouth. Even the yellow rice is plain, the taste is infused with paella dish flavor. The serving with a side of black beans and fried saba are quite overrated as the dish was already packed in gastronomic degustation.
Maybe the Tilapia Fillet (P 420.00) that was served to me was medium rare, still the with chimichurri and Greek orzo salad made it a standout meal.
I cannot imagine Cheese Panna Cotta (P 225.00) with Olive Oil can be a dessert as first time to try it. Good thing, the zest of lemon as a sauce mage it soft and silky to indulge.
