Trip to Las Piñas’ Villar Foundation

Trip to Las Piñas’ Villar Foundation

“There are points in our life that we do something that makes us happy. Learn to cope up. Take those positive things to do one step at a time. Just be patient and someday everything will come to reality.”

.

I got to worked before in Las Piñas area for almost two years and getting back again was a reminiscence of looking back comparing the “before and after” especially the Villar Foundation.

This time it was different.  We were tour around and oriented on the different projects spearheaded by Ms. Cynthia Villar which is the main purpose is to rehabilitate not only the environmental aspect but to uplift the livelihood and well-being of the people around.

These are  the following livelihood projects:

1. Coconut Weaving  located at Barangay E. Aldana

Concept:  To produce coconut net that can be use for slope protection and soil erosion control thus holding the plant’s root system which also absorbs water.

According to Engr. Dexter Gonzales,  instead of throwing away those green coconut husk as a waste material, its fiber can be drawn out to rope and can be weave as net.

.

Engr. Gonzales even shown to us the step-by-step procedure on how to do it:

  • Put the husk into decorticating machine that let to separate the fibers and dust.
  • Separate the fiber and dust it.
  •  Twine in preparation for a rope.
  • Weave the twined rope to produce net.

Villar Foundation - Cocoweaving

I got to seen this one in the southern area using abaca products. Good to know that those husks are effective way to protect environment. It has also created jobs along barangay from all walks of life – men, women like mother, grandmother while children can also be with them.

We have also personally met Divine who were working during our visit and how this livelihood project changed her life.

2.  Handloom Weaving Center located at Bernabe Compound, Pulang Lupa

Concept: To weave blankets that can be sent to victims of disasters in various parts of the Philippines.

According to Engr. Dexter, most of the workers were dropped-out from school and trained here to weave.  Each of them was able to do three (3) blankets a day.

.

Activities shown here were:

  • Arranging those thread running in a refurbished electric fan.
  • Once the thread was set-up on the loom, one can make a flat pieces of knitting based on the width size of the pattern.
  • Then the weave will begin setting the blanket to be long.

Weaving-Villar Foundation

3.  Eco-Center located at Barangay Pamplona Dos

Concept: Using biodegradable wastes to produce quality compost

This time, the barangay chairman, Mr. Roberto Villalon  oriented us on the steel composters that can produced almost 1,000 kilos of organic fertilizers a month.   One bag cost P 3.00 per kilo which is far beyond more affordable compared to other fertilizers sold in the market.

Trip to Las Pinas Villar Foundation-42

Mr. Villalon demonstrated to us the segregation and composting made of biodegradable waste. This was not new to me since we were practicing the same method with our Los Banos Garden Society in Laguna to nourish more the growth of our horticultural plants.

The process include:

  • Kitchen waste were picked-up by garbage collectors along the neighborhood and put it in a well-sealed white container.
  • These were manually mixed with trichodema and coconut dust that came from the coconut weaving.
  •  After thorough mixing, this will be placed in a composting hammer machine that would pulverized to produce an organic fertilizer.

Ecocenter-Villar Foundation

How about those plastic bags or sachets included with those trash?

Mr. Villalon showed to us the use of plastic materials  that can also be included in doing hollow blocks and bricks from a mix of one sack of cement and kilos of plastic.  Did you see those red and blue color below within those hollow blocks?  Those were plastics together with those cement that can beused as a filler.

.

4.  River Station and Livelihood Center  located at BF Resort Village Barangay Talon Dos

Concept:  Clean up the garbage and water lily floating around the river to avoid flooding

Whow, I was amazed to see lot of improvements in this historical river!

Way back then, I have to climb in a woody stairs, pay P 2.00  just to crossed over the fastest path going to Cavite  whenever I got a meeting with my client after a work in Las Piñas.

Lot of improvements, I may say!  If only I took those pictures way back then, we could compare how this river become so nature friendly together with those almost clean atmosphere of free flowing water bodies around and trees to support it.

Engr.  Gonzales told us that this was actually a historical dam that can be part of cultural heritage conceptualized by St Ezekiel Moreno (Patron Saint for Cancer victims) that would provide water capacity along the nearby areas.

.
.

5. Las Pinas Arts and Crafts  located at Caroline Masibay St.  BF Resort Village Barangay Talon Dos

Concept:  To convert water hyacinth into handicraft products

When I was working in Las Piñas, instead of going to the nearby mall, my first stop was going here in this arts and crafts to check those latest creations.

If budget permits, I would bought those native decorations at home or a gift to loved ones and friends.

I heart those materials intricately made out of dried water hyacinth stalks that can be converted to extra-ordinary handicrafts and can make one each home a stand-out.  Those interiors that can be use to as an accents to lights, furniture,  wall decor, cabinets and alike.  They also maximize the use of bamboo crafts that is very common product in the heart of Las Pinas.  Remember, their famous bamboo organ?
.

.

After our tour, we got to personally met and have lunch with Mrs. Cynthia Villar.

We got those casual talks sharing those experiences on how to mentor, monitor and especially spearheading this kind of advocacy.  It was truly a huge task to take to be on this kind of advocacy.

I have been to different NGO project but what stuck to my mind on those simple meet-ups where actions to initiate to make it a reality:

  • Its harmful consequences into environment can be best achieved if “someone would take those lead”.  Creating awareness is the first and foremost  the initial key.
  • A leader can only initiate being a role model and the main primary supporter.  All products hand-over like coconut net, blankets and handicraft were used by Las Pinas community and found to be effective in preserving the nature.
  • Together with the people around the community, stricter rule of banning like the use of plastic bags by the government can now be easily be supported.

This would really be a tough job.

But based on my assessment with Mrs.  Villar advocacy, there were really some points in life that we do something to make a dream a reality. Learn to cope up.   Take those positive steps one day at a time.  Just be patient and someday everything will come to reality.

Result For Week 3 – Immuvit Metafit Challenge

Result For Week 3 – Immuvit Metafit Challenge

“The more commitment you fill in with your desire, the more benefits you are seeing.

Do not ever doubt about it. “

Live Life Fullest Quote by Jinkee Umali, www.livelifefullest.com

After 3 weeks of doing those routine exercise for four minutes in a day and some other physical activities,  my stamina perked up.   I don’t know.   It is just that I was addicted to it which Coach Jim Saret told us when we were starting this Immuvit Metafit Challenge. One cannot stop.

Did I share to you those muscles forming at the back of my legs? More defined and slimmer, I suppose.  I felt those pain everyday and what I did was to do those exercise.  After which, you never know it was gone.

Immuvit Week 3 Musle form

Our next 4-minute routine for Week 3 were:

  • Mountain Climbers
  • Half  Burpees
  • Ski Jumps

I find this cardio exercises a lot of stretching, jumping  and need more strength to finish those 4-minute routine.  Honestly, I got only one-half round.  Again no forcing, no pressures, only a desire to put this activity to routine and most of all, to enjoy it.

Next in the morning, I was too lazy to do it because it was too stressful for me as I felt those soaring around my shoulders, chest and thighs.

What I did was to do it once as in no tuning back as I got up to bed and after I open my computer in our home office.  No workout outfit,  still on my bed clothes and did this in barefoot.  LOL!

Below were the sample exercises that I did – Mountain Climbers and Ski Jump.

Immuvit Week 3-1-4

Immuvit Week 3-1-3

Then up to the metro for consultancy work as I recalled my activities:

  • Since vehicles were bumper to bumper traffic here in Calamba because of summer outings around, I settled to walk instead of riding a tricycle to catch the bus  going  to Manila (10 minutes)
  • During meetings in a coffee shop, instead of ordering pastries, have eaten heavy sandwich that become sometimes my lunch.
  • I drank water for the whole three-day duration.  My coffee intake was down one each day compared to other days that I was drinking coffee 3x a day.

Traffic

Starbucks Sandwich

Other activities that I did was the weekend getaway with the family at Chateua Royale, Nasugbu Batangas where I substituted my 4-minute exercise by:

  • Strolling along the resort while taking pictures (1 hour)
  • Swimming (2 hour, one in the morning and one in the afternoon)
  • Drink water most of the time
  • Eat suman/mango at breakfast and chicken during meals

Chateua Royale-24
Suman and Mango

From last remaining day back home, what I did was to start  again those routine and continue it with other activities like:

  • Helping hubby to fix and clean up the house.
  • Continue to serve family with healthy food as our meal.

Husband Working

Meaty Sauteed Green Peas

I felt raising those fast heart rate beat when I was doing those exercise for five days.  I thought I cannot do it.  With the aid also of  Immuvit vitamins aside from the healthy food intake,  those new cardio exercise can be possible.  I got to intake also two(2) soft gels before my first meal on my third week instead of one.

I have those many hats everyday – from a mother, working with our client, blogging and also manning our family business.  Immuvit content combined with Ginseng extracts and CoQ10 would assist me in boosting those energy levels.

As I age also, I have to combat those somatopause syndrome to be able to be fit for my family.  I dream that someday as I finished this one-month challenge, I can join them on the sports activities they were engaged every time we went out.

Sharing this picture how versatile my children including hubby in terms of sports activities when we did our last getaway doing those rock climbing.
Rock Climbing Chateua Royale-11

Aside from that desire, I also observed these benefits I have been doing for 3 weeks:

  • I don’t feel tired at all during the day even I have already did those 4-minute exercise.
  • I sleep very well at night and when I woke up, I felt those feeling to start ASAP.
  • My level of concentration is focus.

Of all those in my plates, I feel I am more awesome as a being.  Positive outlook of emotions keeps on coming.  Definitely, I will still continue the same routine for the fourth week of this challenge, my last hurray!  I can’t wait to see what more it will offer as I complete those fitness to my body.

The more commitment you fill in with your desire, the more benefits you are seeing.  Do not ever doubt about it.  Now, I am really excited.  Hopefully, we can continue the quest to become fitter.

Peee…….Essss……

I just bumped a weighing scale in a client’s clinic.  Here what I found out – from 134 lbs., I was down to 128lbs loosing almost 6 pounds.

Yehey!  What I did was to treat myself with Cinnamon Rolls and Strawberry Icescape from Cinnabon as a reward.

Please, can I have just one “cheat day” with my diet?  XD!

Ohhh, I even bought a box of treats from my children at home as I celebrate those fitness achievement.

I Wanna Dance and Love Again My Body

I Wanna Dance and Love Again My Body

“Make a best beliefs that would empower you to move on.  And for me, if dancing and loving again my body will be the way to become fit again, I am DEFINITELY IN.”

Letting one to be at home gave me more the opportunity to include fitness in a daily routine with a twist like doing the 4-minute workout but to plan also healthy meal with the family.

What I did was to go to the market with my daughter soo early as in 5am in the morning.   We commute that gave us th0se opportunity to walk as our physical activity and form a bonding between us while looking for healthy stuffs around.

The picture below was only half of the vegetables and fruits we bought for our market day.   This estimated stock I think, would last for five days the most.
Immuvit Metafit Challenge-1-2

Our forecast meals for the week were:

  • Chopsuey
  • Pinakbet with Fried Tilapia
  • Pork Adobo with Sitaw
  • Chicken Tinola
  • Pork Sinigang

For munching, instead of chips, we substituted it with indian mango and singkamas.  For fruits, we go for banana and mango and shakes like corn.

This is one of our sample Chopsuey meal that me and my kids prepared – less of a chicken but more quail eggs around.

Immuvit Metafit Challenge-2-2

After I have prepared the lunch, now it is the time for me to do the the new set of 4-minute exercise as shown below.   If in Week 1, there were two alternative set of exercise, this time it would only be one:

  • 10 Leg Exercise
  • 10 Squat Jump
  • 10 Alternate Lunges

Soo exhilirating but honestly, loving those sweats.  Go figure!

To make it more exciting, got to dance it with the new song of Jennifer Lopez.   Dance Again  is a 4-minute uptempo party song that signal that I have done also the 4-minute exercise once the song is done.

Love the rhythm of the song as  J.Lo plays those sexy scenes and vocal yet infectious dance beat with a little dose of Pitbull’s energetic verses.

“I wanna dance, and love, and dance again

Dance, yes
Love, next
Dance, yes
Love, next”

To tell you honestly, when I saw the new set of exercise video, I was a bit hesitate to do it.  As I said, this will be so hard.  It was exhilarating when I tried it.  But screw up!  Sometimes we have to think ways to spice it up, varieties to make it enjoyable like putting music with the activity.

Go back again why one has to do this rather than justify reason that would made one stop and not to do it at all.  From there, we can think ways how can we work it out.  Make a best beliefs that would empower you to move on.  And for me, if dancing and loving again my body will be the way to become fit again, I am DEFINITELY IN.

Max’s 4Sharing Meals for Mama

Max’s 4Sharing Meals for Mama

Max's 4Sharing Meals-9

My work schedule for this month was way too close for so much responsibility during weekdays which my family and relatives decided to celebrate my Mother’s birthday last Sunday, April 15. I cannot find time also to go to market and the most to cook as there were still errands that I have to attend to.

Good thing that I come across Max’s Restaurant 4Sharing Meals where a campaign that seeks to bring a group of family or friends alike meeting up together and crave for their signature chicken and dish like sinigang.   Price is P 799.00.  You can also visit their Facebook page for more info,

My parents especially Mama introduced us to Max’s Restaurant and passed also to my kids which also love the same dishes.    Surely, once I bring this set of meals, they will love it.

Max’s 4Sharing Meals include a  sumptuous spread of one whole, regular, sarap-to the-bones Fried Chicken.  Before it was about to put in the box for take-out, my kids grabbed those camote fritters.
.

Also include were a bowl of piping hot Sinigang,  One can choose from a variety of Sinigang  – from Sinigang na Baboy, Sinigang na Tyan ng Bangus, Sinigang na Hipon, and Sinigang na Tyan at Ulo ng Salmon.
.

.

Since kids were already hungry, we ordered chicken, lumpiang shanghai and use those four servings of rice and four glasses of iced tea in the 4Meal sharing.   For dessert, we settled for buko pandan.
.

.

Birthdays will never be complete without the cake.   We grabbed those yummy cakes at Max’s Corner Bakery.

I beginning to love those cake as I find it not too sweet in our taste palette.  Price is also affordable.  I think I am not mistaken, this mocah cake is P 350.00.
Max's 4Sharing Meals-8

Now we were up to go bringing those goodies!   We were almost complete when we head up to the metro – to my family, parents, brothers,  nieces and nephews.
Max's 4Sharing Meals-7

Verdict, do they love it?  You will be the judge!  LOL!   Simot-sarap-to-the-bones!
Max's 4Sharing Meals-6
There were times we were all really busy.  Definitely there were ways how to cope up with it once we have common desire to do it.  A simple food to share with loved ones create those memorable moments to one another especially this special occasion of my mother.

I am also dedicating this post to my mother who are always ready to give herself to us even we are old enough to stand on our own.  Again with our fullest appreciation of love and sacrifices on what you did to us all throughtout this year, we love you sooo much!  Happy Birthday Mama!

As women, we are naturally giving and naturally nurturing…We take care of others..I love that part of us and I love doing it…Jennifer Lopez

Heartwarming Flavors for Lent by Max’s Restaurant

Heartwarming Flavors for Lent by Max’s Restaurant

When Jeng and Jam celebrated their birthday bash this March, we settled to introduce them to healthy yet lighter food like vegetables, fish and seafood.

Good thing that Max’s Restaurant offered new line of food the way I like my children to eat yet infused with classic Filipino flavors.  These set of foods are also made especially for Lenten season.

Max’s Restaurant casual dining is always a household name started way back to our family and relatives especially their infamous “sarap-to-the-bones” fried chicken. This was passed to us which is now enjoyed by our children that shared the same passion with their food.
Max Restaurant Lenten Meal-4

Sizzling Seafood in Honey Bagoong Sauce is a combination of  deep fried seafood – breaded cream dory, shrimps and squid rings. If you think that the sauce used here is the traditional sweet and sour sauce, its not.  To make it extra-ordinary, honey and bagoong that cannot hard to distinguish its taste make the serving too palatable. Jeng, a seafood aficionado almost finished eating the whole plate.  Price  – P 265.00.

Max Restaurant Lenten Meal-3

Adobong Kangkong Stuffed Tofu is healthy veggie twist combination of tofu and kangkong in one dish.  I cannot say its an adobo  for me because of its sweet sauce.  Its more on oyster mixed taste drizzled with shiitake and mushroom.  Price – P 150.00.

Max Restaurant Lenten Meal

Cauliflower Puffs is the dish that my son love most.  He is a very picky  eater  and the most, don’t eat vegetables.  I was amazed to see him tossing, picking it up and most tasting it more. He find the cauliflower sooo crunchy and forget he was actually munching a vegetables. Maybe because the white sauce is thickly battered and deep fried. Price  – P 160.00.

Max Restaurant Lenten Meal

Another one worth a try is the Max’s Corner Bakery.   Got those yummy cakes and desserts to offer that my kids did not hesitate to look for other bakeshop just to get the cake for their birthday.  Toffee Torte mocha chiffon cake is yummy in taste and not too sweet for us.  Price is P 395.00.

Max Restaurant Lenten Meal

Max Restaurant Lenten Meal

The soft and chewy caramel bar which was served in a party event as a dessert become a hit and can be bought  home which Jam also requested me to buy for her school snack.  One box contains 18 pieces for P 120.00.

Max Restaurant Lenten Meal-5

Overall, I found the food innovative yet healthy and delish even some of the main dishes were oily to taste.

Truly, I am also glad that family started to appreciate eating nutritious food without forcing them yet appreciate its benefits to their body.

Hopefully, all these food will be add up to their traditional and regular menu not only this Lenten Season but all year round.

My Love to my Daughters

My Love to my Daughters

If February for the family are celebrations of our birthday – me/hubby, Valentine and our love anniversary, March is also a great way to remind birthday of my daughters, Jeng and Jam.

Come weekdays, kids will be again busy preparing for their last hurrah exam while me and hubby for the work stuffs.  We got to compress our time and give way dedicating our weekend to kick-off Jeng/Jam’s birthday.

First we were fortunate to be invited to watch the advance 3D screening of “The Lorax” at SM Southmall.

We headed to Max’s Restaurant for our dinner.  Jeng and Jam cannot get rid of a cake for their birthday.  They will definitely request one.  Great that Max Bakery Corner got those fabulous cakes.  They chose the mocha flavor.

Amidst those food, gifts and anything that they receive from their birthday, love to dedicate this post to my two daughters:

I look at you and I do not see the passage of time.
I see my little girl playing dress up, running through the yard,
Playing on a swing.

I will try and respect the fact
That you are older now
And that the decisions you will make are your own,

But you must understand that to me,
You will always be my little girl.

I may not be able to carry you in my arms anymore,
But I will always carry you in my heart.

Happy birthday to my little ladies!  You are one of the greatest gift from heaven – an angels sent to us.  Muaahhh and love you so much!

Mentorship Benefits at PAREF Woodrose

Mentorship Benefits at PAREF Woodrose

“If somebody could just hold those hands not to drag them but someone to walk with them along, then maybe a lot of them would find their way.”

Mentoring

Basic foundation of a child is to have a consistent relationship with the adult in order to guide their way throughout their adolescent. Once the child is out, almost half of their day were spent in school and naturally, they encountered more challenges.

If at home, children followed their parents, then at school, they have to be guided with norms from teachers and administrators. To augment those superior type of mode to children and realize they need more support to adult, some of the schools provide a mentoring program to improve youth behaviors and attitudes.

I came from a school of girls where we not only found advisers but mentors who talked to us during breaks or everytime literally we need them.

Was that helped me a lot? I guess so. I am A-ok as a person.

Maybe there is a clear evidence that involvement in consistent, long term yet supervised relationship got those multitude tangible benefits for me including maybe good grades and healthy relationship with my parents and loved ones.

Great to know that there are still schools until now who still instigate the value of mentoring.  That is PAREF Woodrose

Woodrose School was established by the Parents for Education Foundation (PAREF) who wanted to be fully involved in providing integral education for their children.
PAREF Woodrose, School for Girls

I got the opportunity to listen about the values of mentoring and definitely I got to rekindled some lessons learned I like to share.

First was Ms. Kathleen Pineda, Associate Director for Personal Formation and Academic Standards which she gave emphasis about the inclusion of mentoring at Woodrose’ educational system. Each student has an assigned mentor that only not there for academic purpose but more on to guide them personally. All throughout these years, the mentoring program shown the ability to further improve youth behaviors and attitudes towards grades and family relationship.

PAREF Woodrose, School for Girls

Life Coaching through Mentoring at PAREF Woodrose School

We got to listened also to their students – the present and an alumna to give their personal sharing how mentoring enforce their present lives.

Luisa Pineda, a graduating student and recently hailed as the one of the  most outstanding students of Muntinlupa for the year 2012 is guided by her mentor the balance in all aspects of life be it in scholastic both academic and non-academic, spiritual and  emotional.

PAREF Woodrose, School for Girls

Leah Lourdes Puyat, a Woodrose Alumna took also the time to share how her mentor ignite her Math issue through her series of sharing and talking way, way back then when she was still a student.  Through a series of collaborations where mentor asking question which listened a lot, gaining those mutual trust, respect, and openness lead her the realization the value as a person.
PAREF Woodrose, School for Girls

Elionor Dioko, a mentor for 16 years at Woodrose shared how small petty things were shared by students and for them these were something still have to  accommodate.  From that point, trust and support were almost gain once they started to confide where they could tell anything.
PAREF Woodrose, School for Girls

With all the sharing and question/answer interactions gave me those nostalgic moments reminding me my all-girls school way back in elementary and high school.  I remembered I got also a mentor where I have shared to her a puppy love relationship when I was 13 years old then.  Yes, she listened and also advised me to open it  to my mother.  We planned before I started to open those stuffs and amazingly my mother was not angry.

Now as a parent, both me and hubby relied sometimes to the advisers of our children . As in, what’s going on? At the end of each meetings with the advisers, we talked to our kids, listened  to them and later explain further their concerns.

For me, mentoring is more on the collaboration of school and parents.  There were times, children were bit uncomfortable with parents and teachers.  What spelled the difference is to:

  • Let them see  you are more than anything else – a friend or a buddy
  • No matter what happens, you will always looking over their shoulder
  • Always there to remind things they does wrong and understand what they will say rather than scolding them
  • Mostly, a realization that someone will be there to help, assist and guide them out

Hopefully, other schools would include mentoring as an innovative supplement to the traditional learning, providing potentially students with another avenue through which they might feel more confident about their schoolwork, improve their attitudes and commitment to learning, and develop more fully as a person.

Interested with PAREF Woodrose?  I would also like to share with you a video clip a glimpse about this “All-Girls-School” .

Simple Healthy Treats with Holy Kettle Corn

Simple Healthy Treats with Holy Kettle Corn

When my children knew I will be in a mall even I did not told them literally before I left home and found it when I started to do status updates in a social media locator, they will be starting to send me a lot, as in a lot of text messages to remind me bring them some treats.

I also got a to share my insights regarding giving the tradition of “pasalubong” (treat) with this link – Unleashing Childlike Attitude .

Since I was a bit in a hurry, I got to grabbed set of different flavors of popcorn at the mall – Holy Kettle Corn.  My kids will have a chance to taste different flavors -  original flavor, cheese, sour cream and  barbecue.  Price is P 35.00 for the original and other flavors cost P 40.00.

Holy Kettle Corn

Am I a bad mom?  There were still other healthy food I can give to my kids.  Yes, I am also meticulous in terms of giving also treat to my kids.   I choose Holy Kettle corn as an alternative healthy snack.

Holy Kettle Corn

Why? Holy Kettle Corn contains no preservatives as in no  cholesterol nor MSG or butter.  The popcorn is  high in fiber.  The natural sweetness is not owed to harmful artificial flavoring.   Also, highly recommended for people who like to do diet.

Holy Kettle Corn

I got to asked also the staffs when I bought those packed of popcorn.  According to them, I have to consume it before four days to retain the freshness.  Corn is imported from Nebraska.  Popcorn is hand-popped everyday so expect a very nutritious snack when eaten.

Holy Kettle Corn

Bit worried because I have to go to the mall just to purchase for this one.  Glad that Holy Kettle Corn is available at 7-11 stores.

I love more the Holy Kettle Corn’s original flavor.  Did you see that I hoard it infront of my working area?  My kids settled for the flavory popcorn’s sour cream taste while watching and doing their assignment.

Holy Kettle Corn

Treats were sometimes a little bit pricey but what are those benefits:

  • Strengthening the bond within the family, the feeling of  remembering them is a big deal especially if you saw those smile in their faces.
  • The value of high-regards and thoughtfulness are injected to our children.  I remember my kids got those school field trip and will make it a point to buy something as in anything for us.
  • Emphasize also gladness and  reuniting with loved ones mostly if they miss you after a long travel.

Next time, never, never missed out those treats. Small or big treats doesn’t matter as long as thoughtfulness is there.

To make it more meaningful, munching together with the family in a weekend either watching television or doing our own stuff infront of the computer made the snack more tastier.

Remembering my Loved Ones

Remembering my Loved Ones

“Take every chance you get in life because some things only happen once. Do now that makes you happy.”

Secret of Happiness of 100-Year-Old Man

The first time I saw this commercial that talked about the 100-year old man who made a visit to his newborn great grand daughter, the values and authenticity are so real. I will not lost a chance on commercials that astonished me which gave substance and meaning to the viewer. I did several posts about commercials or videos which is not only viral but give the meaning of life. I am not paid with this but basically I am endorsing it to convey the real meaning of the message within.

This gave me a goose bump nostalgic moments. We were a family that grandparents were very, very close to our heart that reminded my lolo (grandfather) who were died 10 years ago. I am still lucky I have with me my grandmother, my Mommy Lola which we fondly called. Her wisdom and being healthy gave the manifestation of zest for life. Her joys were still very heart warming to us.

For me, it is not more about the Coke commercial. It gave a move to a goal in life, finding what makes you happy, its secret. Time passes very quickly and before we knew it, another day has passed by. Take every chance you get in life because some things only happen once. Do now that makes you happy.

I also love to share this full of quotes about what Life can offer:

Life can seem ungrateful and not always kind
Life can pull at your heartstrings and play with your mind

Life can be blissful and happy and free
Life can put beauty in the things that you see

Life can place challenges right at your feet
Life can make good of the hardships that we meet

Life can overwhelm you and make your head spin
Life can reward those determined to win

Life can be hurtful and not always fair
Life can surround you with people who care

Life clearly does offer its ups and its downs
Life’s days can bring you both smiles and frowns

Life teaches us to take the good with the bad
Life is a mixture of happy and sad

So…..

Take the life that you have and give it your best
Think positive, be happy let God do the rest

Take the challenges that life has laid at your feet
Take pride and be thankful for each one you meet

To yourself give forgiveness if you stumble and fall
Take each day that is dealt you and give it your all

Take the love that you’re given and return it with care
Have faith that when needed it will always be there

Take time to find the beauty in the things that you see
Take life’s simple pleasures let them set your heart free

The idea here is simply to even the score
As you are met and faced with Life’s Tug Of War

My name is Lolo Mario and in my 100 years of life,
I have been lucky, lucky to have been born like you
To have friends and family
To live a happy life to this day
You have been born in challenging times
The world is a big place
It’s so easy to get lost
To guide you, my advice is simple
Go find what makes you happy
Time flies by so fast
Don’t waste it on non-sense
And no matter where you end up
Don’t forget where you came from
Looking back on all my years
I am grateful for every moment spent
With my friends and family
Now I can see that 100 years
is not nearly enough time
To spend with them
Happiness is your birthright
Your friends and family will help you find it
For 100 years of happiness, thank you very much!

Date with Hubby At Enchanted Kingdom

Date with Hubby At Enchanted Kingdom

“Spend plenty of time together.  Get exciting yet spontaneous talk that will later bring both of you the spark of memories when you first fell in love.”

Dating with Hubby

Me and hubby were quite sad when I was invited the partner launch of Enchanted Kingdom and Coca-Cola because we will be missing our kids with us who enjoyed more the attractions and took the most of the unlimited rides and attractions.

Anyway, both of us just enjoyed it as some sort of a date between us.  We love always the Wheel of Fortune where we can get at the top shooting the whole compound of Enchanted Kingdom and seen the greenery of the south.  Maybe even I will go round and round several times, we will still do it.

As we got the chance to talk to each other before new year’s eve, our resolution is still to have a time between the two of us without  literally the kids. People say that once both are married, it is done deal.  We spent time going around and enjoyed the parade for the whole afternoon.

Sounds really funny to date a hubby.  Anyway,  I would like to share with you simple tips, my insights why is it important.

Importance of Dating in a Marriage:

  • One must realize that to keep the marriage always alive, the love rekindled by giving time to each other.  Thus, relationship with marriage become still fresh and interesting everyday.
  • It is not necessary to be with one another always.  Spending quality time is enough.
  • There were times when we were both alone, we clashed on certain ideas.  When kids were around, we avoided heated discussions just for them not to hear it.  When both talk personally and understand with each other, bitterness and resentments fade away, relationships rejuvenated and strengthen more the closeness.

Do this every week by routines and you will see the difference.  Make it a habit and give priority. It will become natural that you like the experience to be with one another.  Problems and issues will always exist but if you have control to every situation, your marriage will be able to face any storms.

I remembered my parents and grandparents always told us, only two of you started the family.  Children will leave you in the future.  You are all ended alone again.  True indeed!   Dating breaks the rut of daily life.  Spend plenty of time together.  Get exciting yet spontaneous talk that will later bring both of you the spark of memories when you first fell in love.
