Staying in a while, being productive and smart move are ways to live life more that made us to let loose, take it easy and make it simple.
Finally our backpacking tour to Siquijor is now a go when I convince hubby we will only go there if he is with me.
I got to score a plane seat sale via Cebu with 3am flight schedule in a working day. That means, we still have to work 8 to 5 schedule in the metro then rush up back home to get our stuff. Go back again to the metro for the said flight.
When we both realize it, kind a waste of time considering the travel back and forth that would take us 3 hours alone which we do not consider the traffic yet.
We must be also at the airport by 1am for check-in. As we realize, no time to rest.
Rather than facing these predicaments, me and hubby opted to take a rest at BGC Hostel located in Makati area. I checked the place online if its visible to get ASAP in Terminal 3. Yes it is, taking the route of Kalayaan Avenue via Mckinley.
Agreed upon, we took a taxi ride in Makati, search via Google map. What hubby is always looking is a mark along Edsa since the driver did not have any idea where Danlig St. is. He directed the driver to check Mercury Drug corner street after Kalayaan Avenue until we found it.
BGC Hostel is high rise quaint building located in residence area which is near the working district of Makati, BGC or Ortigas area. This is more an advisable long or short stay to business travelers who are looking for affordability.
Upon entrance, pleasant colorful entrance, knick-knacks and decorative interiors will welcome the guests.
Wifi is available and you can also browse thru their available desktop at the lounge area with a pay. There are also seats around where you can watch television or work along the tables provided.
We stayed in a dorm type style where male and female were seperated for P 499.00 for one day. They will give you an electonic swipe card for security.
Since we are here to take a rest, I go immediately to my bunk bed to settle down:
- Got a privacy having a curtain
- Own power socket where I can charge my gadgets
- Own light
- Own locker
Every dorm has their own toilet and shower room which is well-maintained.
I was able to work for a while in my bunk bed checking last minute announcements in my email, did unfinished tasks and submitted some of it.
Idea is, you can hear people talking outside. Maybe the management can put a message that after 10pm, guests can lower the voice and be mindful to those who are already taking their rest.
The place is cozy that made me and hubby also take some notes to plan and bond more while sharing our packed meal.
What made us comfortable also are the 24-hour security guard along the entrance and friendly, accommodating desk officer available for your concerns.
Even its a short stay, definitely we got a quick nap before our flight.
I can say we are productive enough to make a smart move to look for alternative rather than taking time again to travel back and forth home.
Maybe these are some ways to live life to let loose, take it easy and make it just simple as is. That’s practicality anyway.
- Nearest would be the corner of Kalayaan Avenue along Edsa.
- After Kalayaan Avenue, you will see Petron and Mercury Drug.
- From the corner of Mercury Drug is Danlig St. where you can view the BGC Hostel building already.
