The wisest thing you can do is be present in the present…..Gratefully….
by Maya Angelou
To tell you honestly, at this point in time if I have to visualize a dream to make it happen, I think I’m already ok.
When my daughter told me she will be having her OJT this coming semester, I know I will be counting the months that she will be leaving us just like my son to work professionally.
If dreaming to achieve happiness, I can say simple would do because as a parent seeing their children pursue their own life made a fulfillment after all.
Maybe I can share to you practical ways on how to do it.
How to visualize your dreams to make it happen?
1. Put a picture or any symbol that would remind you of your dreams.
Like for example, we already visualize in the past a dream that someday our kids can be an achiever, born to sustain everything that they encounter along the way.
We put this picture of our kids in our wallet. Why wallet? Because we always open it everyday.
Everytime we meet adversities, seeing them smile at you reminded us to be positive and to move forward.
2. Jot down all your plans everyday in your journal and see if you are making progress.
Definitely, I have a planner with me like the Coffee Bean Giving Journal planner partnered with the color scheme which is green.
I don’t know, maybe I just like to make it more exciting everytime I write down those notes. Simply to prettify it will make me inspired.
3. Make time to reflect for calmness and focus.
Maybe that is why I take time to D-I-Y my yoga practice, that is to meditate. In this kiosk world around you, one has to live still in present time where no one is really perfect.
Thinking quietly would made you go back in tract.
Having said it all, I’m not still on half of my dream that I want to be.
As we grow wiser, we still love to dream the desire we like to carry out.
Maybe we have started it already, the sustainability once you discovered it made you complete. You have realize already the full potential on what you can do for your life more.
To share with you some of the actualization which I like to do more are:
1. Travel with business and leisure again
I got the opportunity to travel to different countries which I can’t imagine I will be going.
Example was going Safari at Kenya, Africa. I was fortunate to be in a group doing I.T. implementation worldwide. After every successful roll-off, now it’s the time for us to go around and sight seeing the place.
Definitely, I would like to take again those chance to get a project like this one in the near future.
2. Spending not only once a year volunteered activities like feeding program or medical mission but maybe four (4) times.
Every year, our alumnae highschool batchmates make it a point to adopt one barangay where we will be doing some feeding program. There were times, we will go for medical mission spearheaded by the school admin. Hopefully and praying, we could do these kind of advocacy every quarter with the gracious donors who send their love offer as a support. 3. Share my technical industry experience to school to keep them abreast on the latest technology. Last year, I was invited to different school to share practical technical knowledge in information technology. It was nice to go back to my college university when they requested me to speak about Open Source Technology, an inner happiness when students got to asked questions knowing they are interested to what you are sharing. I would like to repeat this kind of transfer knowledge that would make you complete professionally. 4. To give more time to my parents, the idea of Paying Forward. I would like to share with them my travel adventure to explore the world. Hopefully if God permits, I would like them to join me abroad if my work travel will approve. 5. Aiming for forever love with hubby Four years engaged and 23 years married as we are two imperfect people who refused to give up on each other no matter how many storms knocked down with our lives. Hoping as years go by, we rekindled always the true meaning of relationship. 6. My youngest daughter just like her siblings, to achieve also her dream Hopefully, I can give all her needs praying that the Lord will showered us all the assistance we can give to her.
As I visualized now what I like to achieve in the future, quite overwhelmed.
Do I have to take this at once?
It would be one step at the time. One moment of trying and pushing. I still experience the lack of patience.
Still, a note to myself – wait for the right time.
When things seems not you plan to be, it won’t always be this way. Take one day at a time. Live always in the present and make it worth remembering.
Definitely, things will be get done when they get done. One can never tell how close you are to achieve your dreams. Do respect the present moment.
As Maya Angelou shares:
“If you must look back, do so forgivingly. If you must look forward, do so prayerfully. However the wisest thing you can do is be present in the present. Gratefully. “
