Discover best hotel boutique in Cebu with Henry’s that made a serendipity of stay an awesome experience.
Given a chance I would like to document all my escapade travel in Cebu from food, travel, hotel stay and adventure way back 3 years ago when I started to explore it everytime I am assign to do consultancy work. Still, since my time is always tied up with deadlines at work and with the family aside from numerous travel around, will really find time to do so.
Actually, my real destination is Dumaguete for my birthday solo travel. It is just that plane ticket going to the said province is 5 times higher than Cebu. Anyway, I still went to Dumaquete taking a bus. Still have to go back again to Cebu for my plane to Manila.
Since I have already exhausted most of the staycation around Cebu, I still didn’t explore those nearby places along I.T. Park. Most of the travelers rave and recommended me to check-out Henry’s Hotel.
As I was welcome inside, from guard, receptionists and those in the information gave me those big smile aside from the warm greetings dressed in white polo shirt with black ribbon and huge eye glasses. Cute branding I suppose.
You can’t help getting excited once you walk into the lobby of Henry’s Hotel. From the entrance alone, the interior which is a mix of rustic yet recycle stuff and industrial with 50’s vibe makes it a collection of European and vintage selection which are full of character and style.
The blue pool in the garden area which is at the back of the entrance is a therapeutic sight. Itchy to do some dip but maybe not this time. I was in the mood to just rest for the night and cuddle those pillows in bed. Anyway, will be missing this. The pool is open at night till 9pm.
As the receptionist handed me the keycard which was on the third floor, I was ecstatic to see the room’s unique decor. My room’s bed was perhaps the most amazing thing after I took the picture. I snuggled with all the comforts – from a perfect pillow, right mattress that make a peaceful slumber for me. It was a luxury of relaxation by the time I layed down my body to sleep.
As you can see, its almost intact with all the basic needs in a staycation. Name it – from toiletries, LED TV with Cabled Channel and DVD Player, bottled water, refrigerator and small closet. WiFI is also available with strong signal and connects fast.
Expect there is no bathroom doors as in open area which I think adopted to European style of culture but one can request a curtain if you are not use to it.
A full special buffet complimentary breakfast or I may say brunch is what Henry’s Hotel is offering using Rica’s Cafe that serves international and local cuisine. Quite a few to choose, still its ok since its unlimited and delicious – from different breads, ham , cheese, jellies, butter but the best part is different oat meals.
When I was there, they offered corned beef, fish fillet and bacon which is soo crispy. For pasta, they have pene and a choice of either plain or garlic rice. I enjoyed also their guyabano juice and fresh fruits. Maybe that time, I was looking for veggies and danggit which according to them they also served it in another day. Anyway, I was a carnivore at the moment which I forgot to diet.
They have a Reading room which is just beside my room. At the second floor is the Scrap Yard Bar which is a gallery of paintings, recycled stuff and a beetle car that made me asked how did they even got the courage to enter such a huge display.
Banked with 38 rooms with all unique designs, I was able also to tour some of it. All got those rare composition yet luxurious and spacious private rooms / suites fitted with either king or queen size beds.
Each room is bright yet loud colors of furniture and fixtures with all the modern conveniences on amenities like control air-conditioning, LCD television with cable, DVD player, complimentary internet access, coffee/tea making facilities and bath tub for large and x-large room. I stayed in a big room.
While I was about to checkout, I had an energizing stay and made a mental note to myself that I will definitely bring my family here with me when I go back. There is a lot as in a lot of plenty pleasant little surprises like the bead and the hearty buffet breakfast I will not forget. Even it was kinda limited offering, still I enjoyed it. During my stay, a 5-star hotel feeling with a sense of rustic modern in the architectural design lingers on me.
The location is good for a consultant like me who send by the client to work nearby I.T. park. Also for tourists who is looking for a unique design that can accentuate the best of Cebu, then this is really highly recommended.
Since I was already in the midst of starting my post about Cebu, hopefully as the days goes by, Henry’s Hotel is a kick-off to do so to document my travel. Definitely, you will hear from me more.
